Dr. Sophie Stavrinidis graduated from University of Montreal in 1989. She then obtained her Specialist Designations (FRCP) in Internal Medicine in 1994 and as a Cardiologist in 1996 at McGill University. She studied adult congenital heart diseases at UCLA and worked at the University of Sherbrooke Hospital from 1997 to 2000 where she taught cardiology and cardiac embryology.
Pursuing her cardiology practice in Montreal, she searched for a better understanding of health to address underlying issues and explored alternative medicines. She pursued training in; acupuncture at the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada and at Rosemont CEGEP in 2003, osteopathy (manual medicine) and naturopathy (nutrition and functional medicine). She completed her
training at the Institute for Functional Medicine in 2016.
From 2015 to 2017 she worked at the Montreal Center for Integrative Medicine and continues her integrative and functional cardiology and internal medicine practice at Cardiolistik clinic, which she created in 2014.
She also formed an association of doctors for integrative medicine in Quebec in 2013 and is a founding/board member of the steering committee of the Canadian Integrative Medicine Association (CIMA).
